hello friends,
so i've been making this website at work. it's pretty dumb. i had to learn about stupid metal things like beams and channel. not channels guys. channel. yeah i still don't care about it. imagine the tetris block U. you know but all blocky and not curvy. now make that a long steel beam. that's a channel.
here's the site. Metals Supply
It's cool that it's a real place. in my web design class we made up fake sites on our private UH server, but this is for real. you can google this bad boy.
i had some trouble with it here and there, but it's nice to see the fruits of my labor.
UH Trip
Kathleen is back in the H. she's leaving for some dumb vietnam camp tomorrow though. i think they train her to love hello kitty and other fob vietnamese things. make banh mi and stuff. i digress. i picked her up so we could go to UH. i had a meeting with my internship supervisor lady. dr. willis. she's a nice old lady. she was telling me how they're trying to set up texts and twitter and fb and everything like that to get alerts from your teachers. it's gonna be called "Cougar Bytes". she was really proud of that name. it's pretty snazzy.
kathleen came with me, because she's taking a online class from Tech, and she needs to take it at a legit testing site. we went to the ssb, where we learned that she had to email the guy who would proctor it. the lady was like he's really busy, so she has to email him and can't talk to him right now. he happened to be my old stats teacher, and he passed by and said hi. i was amazed that he remembered me.
anyway, since i had the hook up. we just walked into his office and i chit chatted him for a little, then i let kathleen talk to him about her test. good thing i dominated his stats class, or he wouldn't have remembered me.
the lady mad-dogged kathleen when we left his office, but we got the info we needed.
FOOD BLOG
after all that. kathleen and i went to house of te. she got some weird rice salad. i forgot what it's called, but it's suppose to be good for you. i got a chicken, brie, and cranberry baguette and a iced chai tea. the stuff was super good. we were sad though, because their dinner menu started at 4, adn they had a korean bbq special. house of te was good.
on a side not my mom and dad keep trying to make me get on the treadmill, because they think i'm getting fat. can't nobody hold me down. oh no.

Burgers
this is my burger ranking of places i've been to:
1. Tornado Burger (#1 spicy) best burger i've ever had. fries are super good too. in the thin soggy kinda way.
2. In-and-Out Burger. (Cheeseburger) animal fries are off the chain. the burger is very good. believe the hype. very good very delicious and fresh. everyone remembers their first in-and-out experience. San Fran band trip. Joe Nguyen got outstanding solo for his euphonium solo in concert band.
3. Smash Burger (Create-your-own Smashburger) Multigrain wheat bun, sharp cheddar, LTOP, sauteed mushrooms. nice and juicy. fries are good.
4. Whataburger (#5 add jalepenos) You're thinking, really? i say yes my friend. whataburger is very consistent and very delicious. those patties with the cheese and bacon is simply magnificent. fries are also thin and delicious. what makes whataburger so awesome you say? it's the ketchup. best ketchup hands down you'll ever put on your food. don't know what i'm talking about? take ketchup for granted? go to your local whataburger and taste the difference. when the world goes into a global apocalypse whataburger ketchup will be the currency other items are measured against.
"how much for that blanket?"
"10 ketchups"
"i got heinz"
"don't insult me"
"del monte?"
"get outta here you're wasting my time"
5. Fuddrucker's (1/2lb the works) good bun. good burger. the bun is just crispy enough to give you some flakes, yet tender to bite through and taste the craftmanship of it all.
6. Lankford's (Langford's) i forgot what it was called, but it's this little hole in the wall with big servings and great service. i got a South of the Border Burger. That my friends means there is guacamole in it. Guacamole is said to enhance anything it touches. I think God said that somewhere. (forgive my blasphemy) But yeah the burger was big and juicy and delicious. i use these words a lot, because that's basically what people want to know. we don't want dry burgers. we barely eat. a maximum of like maybe 6 times a day if you eat small portions. ( 3 meals a day is bad btw. you should eat small meals throughout the day to keep energized) The bun if i recall was a little sweet and that made everything all the more enjoyable. fries, rings, and fried jalepeno strips were good. nothing out of the ordinary, but good nonetheless.
7. 5 Guys Burgers and Fries.(bacon cheeseburger) I don't see what the fuss is about. "oh man 5 guys rocks" "blah blah it's so fresh and delicious" i agree it was fresh. delicious? nay my friend. i went to 5 guys twice and was sorely disappointed. the burger is so bland. it's like "hey i'm just ground beef made into a patty. enjoy" no i cannot enjoy you're blandness. does your burger suck because you offer free toppings? is that how you recoop your loses? by providing trash burgers that have no flavor? are the free peanuts taking away from the chance of making a delicious juicy burger? yes, to all of the above. Enough of my burger bashing. their cajun fries are off the chain. if someone wanted to go to 5 guys. i'd go and just get these. freakin amazing.
i've obviously been to more, but these are ones that are of note. from here on out. if i eat a burger at a noteworthy place i'll let you know my review.

Places to eat in Houston
kathleen and i have been looking at places to eat in h-town. mainly for brunch, but dinner and lunch are not out of the question.
here's the list and what i know about the places:
palazzo's
it's like this italian place really close to kathleen's. it has a brunch menu, not a brunch buffet, but the reviews are off the chain. reasonable prices like ~$15 give or take a few bucks.
things i want to try:
Spinach and Prosciutto Frittata Italian omelet with spinach, prosciutto, sundried
tomatoes, goat cheese and mushrooms served with skillet potatoes
kathleen:
Crab Cakes and Eggs in remoulade sauce with 2 poached eggs & field greens
shade
it's some contemporary swanky place in the heights. they serve L&D on everyday, along with brunch on the weekends.
things i want to try:
CHOCOLATE PROFITEROLES
Chocolate Brownie Ice Cream, Toasted Hazelnuts
and Chocolate Sauce
GRILLED FETA STUFFED GROUND LAMB
with Cilantro Mint Pesto, over a Salad of Baby Spinach, Grilled Fennel and Asparagus, Roasted Red Peppers, Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Hearts of Palm with Orange Chipotle Vinaigrette
Tiny Boxwood's Cafe
This little cafe is apparently inside an architecture firm. they serve BLD tues-sat, and brunch on sun.
things i want to try:
GRILLED CHEESE & PESTO SANDWICH
slices of aged gouda with a light spread of fresh
basil pesto, grilled between crisp pagnotta bread •
served with roasted tomato dipping sauce
TINY’S BUFFALO BURGER
freshly ground, lean buffalo steak roams
in daily from Pete’s Fine Meats • cooked medium,
with blue cheese crumbles, pesto aioli, pickles,
lettuce, tomato on a whole wheat bun
I'll update with more places, and other things i maybe could eat. blue cheese is a bit much for me sometimes, so i'll probably tell em to go easy on it. it's way too powerful.
if you know any cool places to eat in htown. let us know.
