Places to eat in Houston

kathleen and i have been looking at places to eat in h-town. mainly for brunch, but dinner and lunch are not out of the question.

here's the list and what i know about the places:

palazzo's

it's like this italian place really close to kathleen's. it has a brunch menu, not a brunch buffet, but the reviews are off the chain. reasonable prices like ~$15 give or take a few bucks.

things i want to try:

Spinach and Prosciutto Frittata Italian omelet with spinach, prosciutto, sundried
tomatoes, goat cheese and mushrooms served with skillet potatoes

kathleen:
Crab Cakes and Eggs in remoulade sauce with 2 poached eggs & field greens

shade

it's some contemporary swanky place in the heights. they serve L&D on everyday, along with brunch on the weekends.
things i want to try:

CHOCOLATE PROFITEROLES
Chocolate Brownie Ice Cream, Toasted Hazelnuts
and Chocolate Sauce

GRILLED FETA STUFFED GROUND LAMB
with Cilantro Mint Pesto, over a Salad of Baby Spinach, Grilled Fennel and Asparagus, Roasted Red Peppers, Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Hearts of Palm with Orange Chipotle Vinaigrette

Tiny Boxwood's Cafe

This little cafe is apparently inside an architecture firm. they serve BLD tues-sat, and brunch on sun.

things i want to try:

GRILLED CHEESE & PESTO SANDWICH
slices of aged gouda with a light spread of fresh
basil pesto, grilled between crisp pagnotta bread •
served with roasted tomato dipping sauce

TINY’S BUFFALO BURGER
freshly ground, lean buffalo steak roams
in daily from Pete’s Fine Meats • cooked medium,
with blue cheese crumbles, pesto aioli, pickles,
lettuce, tomato on a whole wheat bun

I'll update with more places, and other things i maybe could eat. blue cheese is a bit much for me sometimes, so i'll probably tell em to go easy on it. it's way too powerful.

if you know any cool places to eat in htown. let us know.

  1. McDonald's serves lunch at 10:30 so that's kinda like brunch

  4. I went to Tiny Boxwood last Thursday. My professor insisted on having class there, weirdo. It's connected to a nursery (plants not babies). So freaking awesome looking inside and outside. I bet Kathleen would like it. The coffee comes in what looks like a huge soup bowl. WIREDDDD.
